We’ve arrived to the end of round 1. Present day. You could be on this list! Vote for yourself! (I’m not telling you to buy a group subscription to support your cause, but I’m not not telling you either.) My only advice is to make sure that when you vote — and if you spend any time checking how the voting is going — do it when there are no prying eyes. Just for your own self-preservation.
Yesterday, we had more upsets, with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall upending Michael Eisner, Tom Cruise jumping over Oprah Winfrey, and James Cameron sinking Lorne Michaels. (Poor TV, still in second position to film.)
Next week! Here’s what to expect:
Monday, April 1: Second round for Old Hollywood, Easy Riders/Raging Bulls
Tuesday, April 2: Second round for Big IP and 2000s Era
Or as Richard calls it, the Great Entertainment Semi-Finals. Who has led or navigated this time of digital disruption — with the democratization of content creation, the rise of streaming services and the transformation of how audiences consume and engage with entertainment? Maybe consider also the players’ sense of good taste and “good for the business” while you’re at it.
