Adam Basil

With production kicking off this spring, we're well on our way to the next season of House of the Dragon - and one Game of Thrones star has set their sights on the popular prequel.

Actor and stuntman Adam Basil appeared as a gladiator in Game of Thrones and would love to return to Westros with a role in House of the Dragon.

Basil – who was also Tom Hardy's stunt double in Venom, portrayed a 'Strong Fighter' in The Dance of Dragons episode of Thrones and swiftly defeated his opponent in the fighting pit as Daenerys looked on.

He went on to appear as a stunt performer in many other Thrones episodes including Battle of the B******s and Beyond the Wall.

Basil also recently appeared as 'The Bloater' in episode five of HBO's The Last of Us.

The star spoke exclusively to the Express and lifted the lid on potentially having a role in the upcoming season of House of the Dragon.

The best battles in Game of Thrones

Jon Snow and Ramsay

Wildfire explosions, dragon fire and rampaging night walkers, Game of Thrones gave fans some epic and brutal battles over its eight seasons. Here's some of our top picks for the best battles in Westeros:

The Battle of Blackwater
The Battle of Blackwater, which took place in season two, was the first major combat in Game of Thrones and set the kick-ass tone for the rest of the series.

An overconfident Stannis Baratheon tries to take on Kings Landing and oust feckless King Joffrey. He was not prepared for raging wildfire though, or that Tyrion would set aside the wine and step up to lead a surprise attack. After most of his fleet is destroyed, Stannis slinks away leaving the realm still under Joffrey's volatile rule. Nice one Stannis.

Battle of the B******s
Arguably the most iconic and visually stunning battle in Game of Thrones, Battle of the B******s  was a season six highlight. In this cinematic warfare, Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton face off in a bloody battle for control of Winterfell and the North.

This intense battle is often hard to watch as the bodies pile up with the horror and chaos threatening to envelop everything. Just as it looks like Jon and his wildling army are doomed, Sansa - having secretly conspired with Littlefinger - has a heroic save-the-day moment that leads to a satisfying downfall of loathsome Ramsay.

Battle of Hardhome
The first major battle against the White Walkers and their army of the dead took place in season five.

Deviating from George R.R. Martin's source material, this episode saw the Night King's forces take on the Wildings and members of the Night's Watch in a chaotic massacre of the free folk. Jon manages to escape by boat only to watch in horror and the Night King revives the dead as wights.

Battle of Winterfell
The Battle of Winterfell in season eight was the final major battle in Game of Thrones. Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and their armies joined forces to defend Winterfell against the Night King and his relentless army of the dead.

Taking place in near darkness, the siege was temporarily lit by dragon fire from above as Drogon and Viserion battled it out in the sky. Just as it looks like Jon and co will be recruited into the army of the undead, feisty Arya stabs the Night King, and he and his lifeless army vanish and the long night is over.
