Man killed over monetary dispute in Pratapgarh
A 58-year-old man was beaten to death and his son also sustained injuries after they were allegedly attacked by a group over some monetary dispute near Shergarh village under the limits of Kunda police station of Pratapgarh district on Tuesday. Kunda police said the deceased Jagannath Yadav, a resident of Patihar (Manikpur) along with his son Azad Singh, was on his way to Shergarh when they were allegedly attacked by Manish, Ashish and others. Police said the miscreants had assaulted the man so severely that he died at Kunda community health centre during treatment. Upon being alerted, senior police officials along with forces of two police stations rushed to the spot and carried out investigations. Two police teams have been constituted to ensure the arrest of culprits. Victim's son told police that the miscreants had an monetary dispute with his father and they also assaulted him when tried to intervene. No arrest has been made so far.
