Trump vs Kamala, who will prevail?A lot has happened in the 2024 race for the White House. What will happen on November 5th?Dear Readers, It’s been a LONG time since we connected. First of all, I wanted to express my gratitude to all of you for continuing to read my Substack and supporting Kaur Republic Media Group. I launched this Substack to cover news from a Sikh American perspective but also one that has been directed rooted in working in politics and fighting power since I was 12. So much has happened since March, the last date of publication for my post about Nikki Haley dropping out of the Republican contest for the nomination of President of the United States. Multiple attempts on former President Trump’s life, President Biden dropping out and handing the baton to his Vice President Kamala Harris to continue the record of success that his administration has cultivated to improve American Infrastructure, ensure that inflation is not continuing to economically devastate American families and also ensure that working people have champion in his administration to look out for their best interest. Of course, as the world continues to go to war and more conflict erupts in the Middle East, we do not yet know when families will be able to rest their head peacefully at night. We are unaware of how we’re going to save the lives of countless children who die far too young. One of my more harrowing stories of Election Day was certainly November 2016 when I stood in Times Square with other shocked Americans as we saw Donald Trump rise in the polls and gain over Hillary Clinton. It is with horror that I watched alongside many millions of Americans, the horrors of January 6th and the attempt of insurrectionists -goaded by Donald Trump’s lies about the election certification process- and their attempts to inflict violence on their political opponents who just narrowly escaped in the nick of time. After test runs on countless state capitols, the very people who sit and make decisions in American institutions have been directly interfering in our system of government and how decisions are made. The message that Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz are sharing with Americans is one of hope and determination to fight for a better future for our kids. We have a very critical decision to make this November. Will we continue the politics of hate and division and allow Trump another term to finish the promise of Democracy for generations to come or will we elect a government for, by and with the people by electing Kamala Harris? Between now and Election Day here are some important steps you can take to ensure your vote is protected and to combat election disinformation. Resources:
The selection is about the future of our country. It's about the survival of our institutions. As we have seen since March, the right wing has put together a very detailed plan called project 2025, which is a 922 page document that outlines the plans that Republicans and conservatives have to overtake our institutions and disempower us all. Republicans have time to take us backwards, but you can take your time to move us forward. For paid subscribers, you will see your newsletters hitting your inbox on Monday morning with a run down of the latest political developments and what is happening in Sikh America.
