Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. Next week will see a harrowing and life-changing event on the Coronation Street cobbles as life is set never to be the same again for bride Daisy Midgeley. Ryan Connor has stepped in as wedding chauffeur as she prepares to say "I do" with Daniel Osbourne, and they are both horrified to find her stalker Justin lurking in the shadows in the pub. Holding a glass full of clear liquid, he advances on Daisy and throws acid at her. Working alongside The Katie Piper Foundation and Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI), the ITV soap filmed in Trafford Park has decided to tell this story to highlight the devastating impact and long lasting effects of such heinous attacks. On the importance of tackling this storyline Coronation Street Producer Iain MacLeod said: "We were keen to show the long-term reality for people who are subjected to this kind of attack. It is something we might often read about in the papers but perhaps don't fully understand, in terms of the depth and variety of effects it can have. "As well as the medical impacts, we explore the social fallout of having your appearance profoundly changed, both in terms of your own ability to process that and how the wider world reacts to you. The story will at times be heartbreaking but we felt it was an important one to tell." Also next week Tracy Barlow is horrified as daughter Amy tells how she passed out drunk and Aaron Sandford raped her. The truth comes out after Summer Spellman reads a text on boyfriend Aaron's phone. The message suggests to Amy they put things behind them, and Summer demands to know what's going on. Stealing himself, Aaron claims they slept together the night they broke up. He lies and protests that it was a one off and they both regret it. Heartbroken Steve and Tracy urge Amy to report Aaron to the police. With Tracy for support, Amy enters the police station and says she wants to report a rape. But there's devastation for Amy as, having scrutinised her phone, DS Swain asks some awkward questions making Amy feel like the guilty party. Get in touch with us!
