Kerala High Court (Kerala High Court) said on Thursday that without reading the judgment (especially amongst a section of lawyers) to interpret them and share them on social media.Social Media) has a 'tendency' to comment or make statements in the press. The court, as well, advised to criticize the judgments only after reading them. Justice PV Kunhikrishnan (Justice PV Kunhikrishnan)'s remarks and advice were given in an order dismissing a petition alleging that Malayalam horror film 'Churuli' contains obscene and abusive dialogues and sought its removal from OTT platform Sony Liv. The film was released on November 19 last year.

Referring to the court's interim order during the pendency of the case, Justice Kunhikrishnan observed that though the January 7 order was correctly published in almost all print and electronic media, it was interpreted differently in social media. The court, in its order on January 7, had said that before taking any decision on this petition, it would be beneficial to take the opinion of the state police whether any such public order, law dealing with decency or morality has been violated and whether Is there some kind of criminal case to be made?

A section of the society is misusing social media

Justice Kunhikrishnan said, "But I am told that this order on social media has been interpreted in such a way that this court has directed the police to find out whether any foul language has been used in the film 'Churuli'." . If this (information) is correct then it is clear that this has been done without reading the order of this court.

He said that this is an indication of how social media is being misused by a section of the society. He said, "Not only this, if the judgment is pronounced in a case, the criticism starts even before the judgment is made public and it is quite surprising to see that some lawyers start commenting on the judgment without reading it. The court said that when the journalists of print and electronic media seek their response at 11:05 on the judgment delivered at 11 o'clock, the counsel should say that they have not read the order yet, but they (lawyers) Start commenting on the basis of available media reports.

'How can a lawyer react to the judgment without reading it?'

Justice Kunhikrishnan said, "How can a lawyer react to the judgment without reading it? He (lawyer) can say that I will come to you after reading the judgment. With such a stand no media person will tell him that he (lawyer) should comment without reading it. Can't be held guilty of making comments about judges.
